Student publication success in Creative Writing Competition

During lockdown, Mrs Hill shared a creative writing competition with students at 58Ó°ÊÓ. The competition from Young Writers challenged students aged 11-18 to create a 100-word mini saga with the title ‘Missing’.

Young Writers received in excess of 6,500 entries and this week we received the fantastic news that three of our students’ entries have been chosen for publication in the SOS Sagas: Missing – UK Tales. A huge congratulations to Sam Webb (Year 13), Molly Turner (Year 11) and Louise Wellsbury-Howells (Year 10).

With all that is going on, good news like this is most certainly welcome. We at 58Ó°ÊÓ send our congratulations to all three students; we hope having work published gives them and others the confidence and encouragement to continue to be creative.

Details of the Young Writers current 100-word Competition entitled ‘Trapped’ is now on the website.
